August Reflections: Why I Do What I Do

August is my birthday month—always a time that makes me a little reflective (and maybe just a little more likely to treat myself to a cupcake or a spontaneous weekend getaway 🍰✈️). As I celebrate another year, I’ve been thinking a lot about why I do what I do—and why being a travel advisor is so much more than just a job for me.

I became a travel advisor because of my love for people and the joy that comes from helping them experience the world. I truly love working with my clients—getting to know their unique travel styles, dreaming alongside them, and helping bring those ideas to life in a way that feels effortless and exciting. There’s just something so special about sending someone off on a trip and then hearing, “That was the best vacation we’ve ever had.” I never get tired of that.

My own passion for travel started with the adventures I took with my husband and our three girls. We’ve made so many memories exploring new places together, and those experiences were a big part of what inspired me to turn my love of travel into a business. Now, I get to help others create those same kinds of memories with their own families, partners, friends—or even solo. It’s a joy and a privilege.

And while my girls are grown now, I’m already dreaming about the adventures I’ll get to have with my grandkids, Odessa and CJ, when they’re a little older. The idea of showing them the world—watching their eyes light up at new sights and tastes and cultures—makes my heart so full.

So this August, as I blow out another candle, I’m just feeling grateful. Grateful for the clients who trust me, the family who inspires me, and the chance to do work that fills me with purpose and joy every single day.

Here’s to another year of travel, connection, and unforgettable experiences. And maybe a little chocolate too. 😉
